Nixon was the childhood home of country music songwriter Hank Cochran, who penned classics like 'Make the World Go Away' and 'I Fall to Pieces.' Nixon holds the unusual distinction of being one of the few Texas towns where the main street was deliberately built extra wide to accommodate cattle drives passing through town.
