In 2020, Moore completed a major infrastructure upgrade project that brought high-speed fiber internet to all residents and businesses in the small community. Country music songwriter and producer Johnny Rodriguez was born near Moore in 1951 and got his start performing at local venues in the area. Rodriguez went on to become one of the first major Latino country music stars, with hits like 'Pass Me By' and 'Ridin' My Thumb to Mexico,' and he still maintains family ties to the Moore area.
Moore is home to one of Texas's last remaining original railroad water towers from the 1880s, which still stands 60 feet tall next to the old depot. The tower was built with a unique spiral brick design that allowed it to withstand the strong South Texas winds, and railroad historians consider it one of the best-preserved examples of 19th-century railroad infrastructure in the state.
Every October, Moore hosts the annual 'Prickly Pear Festival' celebrating the town's location in prime prickly pear cactus country.
