Your Electricity Facts Label should be attached to your renewal letter, either as a separate page or included in the mailing. If you can't find it, log into your provider's website—they're required to make it available before you renew.
Why are renewal rates usually higher? ▼
Providers know that most customers won't shop around when their contract ends. They price renewals assuming inertia will keep you there. New customer rates are competitive because they're trying to win your business. You're not a new customer anymore—you're a captive one.
